David Simpson won the P&KCGU Gents Matchplay for 2022 playing over his home course – Crieff GC – this weekend.
He defeated Ewan Farquharson 2&1 in a very closely contested final.
David had come through his semi-final in the morning against Comrie’s Callum McGuigan by the same 2&1 scoeline.
Ewan managed to get past Steven Park in his semi-final by 1 hole.
The golf on display all weekend was of the highest standard with all the players shooting a number of birdies and the better ball scores would have been very impressive in all of the matches.
As always we must thank our generous hosts – Crieff Golf Club – for providing an excellent course for our guy again this weekend. It really is in superb condition and with the added bonus of good weather all weekend – makes it even more enjoyable.
So a huge thank you to all the members, the committee, the greenstaff and to David, Scott and Calum in the pro shop for enabling us to juggle some of the tee times and to the Bar and Catering team for looking after us all weekend.
