On what was a glorious day at Alyth Golf Club, the Gents team clinched the Midlands Team Championship for the first time since 2018, by a resounding 16 shots.
First played for in 1922 , The Midlands Area Team Championships take place annually between Perth & Kinross , Fife, Clackmannanshire and Angus. The format being strokeplay, with the best 7 scores out of 8 counting towards the championship, 8th score being only used in the event of a tie.
Pictured below with the Midlands Shield is Captain Glenn Campbell and his team of Connor Neil , Steven Park, Ewan Farquharson, Thomas White, Martin Strachan, Cameron Wallace, Cameron Russell, and Callum Mcguigan carded a total score 502
In the Midlands Individual it was Angus’s Craig Smith who carded a 2 under par 68 to clinch the trophy on better inward half from Perth and Kinross’s Ewan Farquharson.

Perth and Kinross will be looking forward to defending the title in Angus County next year when its their turn to host.
